In founding the Coccia Institute, Mr. and Mrs. Coccia and Montclair State University share the vision for an entity with the flexibility to respond to new opportunities as well as network and collaborate with existing organizations in areas of shared interest.

Letter from the Coccia Institute
As we begin a new academic year, the Joseph and Elda Coccia Institute will continue under the guidance of its director, Mark Rotella, to enrich both adults and students who wish to experience “all things Italian” with the many sponsored events and programs.
My father, founder Cavaliere Joseph Coccia, Jr., left a gift to all of us that will “keep on giving” in perpetuity. It is our intention not only to continue, but move forward with the same passion and drive. With our family, a loyal Board of Trustees, hardworking committees, dedicated members, generous sponsors, and guidance from Heaven, we will continue to flourish in our mission of preserving, promoting, and protecting our rich Italian heritage and culture by “passing the torch” to future generations through education. As you peruse this website, we hope you will familiarize yourself with the fine programs Coccia Institute offers at Montclair State University.
We are looking forward to seeing you at our educational programs and anticipate another exciting year!
